Don't you love that Christmas Carol? You know the one, The Twelve Days of Christmas! I never really understood what the meaning behind it was until recently.
The 12 days of Christmas is actually the period beginning on the eve of Christmas Day and ending on the morning of Epiphany (the 6th January). So I thought I'd share with you a card a day (or thereabouts) for twelve days in the lead up to Christmas. After all, it's not very sensible sharing them with you on the 12 days after Christmas!
These cards are all made with Magenta's "My Christmas Tree / Mon Arbre" (41.007.N) so this will also be "Twelve ways to use one stamp"! Magenta stamps are now being distributed in Australia by Craft-A-Lot.
And here's the first one - Turquoise and Copper Tree.
The background is painted with Radiant Pearls and stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink. I traced over the stamped image with a white Signo Uni Ball pen and added some brown crystals to the tree tips. The background is Cuttlebugged copper mirror board which was layered on Doodlebug card. The colour is Swimming Pool....... hmmm love that name - so apt for Christmas in Australia!
Until next post......
Hi Mylene,
ReplyDeleteNice idea for Christmas - I hope you manage to keep up with twelve of them. Will they be as elaborate at the end???
Good point you make Pauline. This is probably why I never reach my target of 50 each year - somehow they always end up this elaborate! Hope you'll check back to see how I'm going.....
ReplyDeleteHi Mylene
ReplyDeleteCool Card! Look forward to looking at what you do over next few days. Trying to do some more on my Christmas Cards so that I can get them off to the UK!!

Hi Christina
ReplyDeleteIt would seem that we all get a little tardy at Christmas time despite our best intentions. Hope yours make it to the UK in time. Mine only have to go interstate but I'll be cutting it very close this year.
Great looking card - love those colors, and the way you shadowed the tree - very cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I hope you'll check back to see Day 2's card.... the colours are similar but with a bit more punch!
