It's time to announce the winner of the Genie Bottle jewellery class. With only a small number of entries for this giveaway, I decided to draw the winner the old fashioned way - with tickets in a hat! Everyone who entered got multiple tickets in this draw so that I really could pick a winner. For the lucky winner, here is what you will win: A free class on Saturday morning in my studio; A kit which includes all the materials you need to make a Genie Bottle/Faux Perfume Bottle necklace; and An extra venetian glass bead and a selection of findings and Swarovski crystals to make a second necklace And here's what you'll learn how to do in the workshop: Make wrapped loops so that your jewellery is ultra secure; Make your own chain so that you can make it the length you like (you'll learn how to add the jump rings and the clasp to the chain); How to tension jump rings correctly so that your jewellery will never fall apart; and Make a gorgeous gift pouch for the necklace using......
It's time for a giveaway on my blog and this one is short and sweet so don't delay getting in your entry! I mentioned "earrings to match" in my last post and with so many beads left over from the re-stringing project I was able to get a little carried away creating a variety of variations.... don't you love it when you can indulge your creativity that way?!! So here's a selection of earrings to suit whatever your style is. But I promised Mum a simple pair of earrings to match her new double stranded necklace and together we decided short and simple with no dangles was more appropriate to a woman of her age. She picked the Moonshine earrings below. We both liked the pearls but because the moonshine beads were the focus in the necklace she thought that they would work better with the outfit she planned to wear this set with. And as for the rest? Well, I thought I'd have a bit of fun and describe what style I think these would suit best. Pearl Drops - For the woman who likes simple classics, you can't go past a pair of pearl earrings.... sophisticated and glamourous......
I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date! No time to say "Hello", "Goodbye" I'm late, I'm late, I'm late, I'm late From the Walt Disney film "Alice in Wonderland" (1951) I know I promised to draw the random winner for my Crow's inspired Katiedids bracelet on Saturday night, but I'm running rather late! To refresh your memory, I offered two versions of the Katiedids serpentine bracelet to my very passionate Crows-supporter customer to choose from and the piece she didn't pick was to be given away to a random winner. As many of you guessed, she was true to her team's colours and she chose the blue, red and yellow version which means the second bracelet (with the orangey colour in it) is up for grabs. And this was the one most of you preferred! So let's make someone happy and draw the winner. Here goes.... Since my last post on Kashmiri beads , I've been contacted by a number of people who have asked where I found my Kashmiri style beads. I even had a gentleman from Spain who wanted to gift them to his wife for her birthday..... isn't that so thoughtful! So it seems that these opulent, over-the-top, almost gaudy Kashmiri beads are gaining in popularity and I've noticed they're popping up in a few more places both online and in shops. The range of colours and designs becoming available is also increasing. So I thought I'd share two of my favourite online sources with you. All the beads in my earlier post came from Stamp Antics. They come in strands with coordinating beads and they are long enough that you could just thread them onto Stretch Magic, tie off into a secure knot and you'll have a stunning, yet simple bracelet. You won't find the beads listed on the website yet as it's still under construction but send an email to Jenny (info@stampantics.com.au)......

When I decided to open my studio to the blogosphere just a little over 3 years ago, I didn't give too much thought to where my blog would go. I just knew that I made stuff and that it would be good to share that stuff with other like-minded souls who happened to stumble across my blog. I didn't dare to think I'd still be blogging beyond that first year. It had certainly occurred to me that maybe no one would read my blog... that was a scary thought, but I went ahead and blogged anyway. And it was strangely satisfying.... putting ideas out there and sometimes reaching someone who appreciated it. Anyway, here we are 3 years on and I'm still blogging away regularly. I think that's quite an achievement! So, to celebrate my 3 year blogoversary I'm having a giveaway . For your chance to win just leave a little comment at the bottom of my post. But first, a little tutorial! Today I'm working with the Sakura Gemcraft Kit. This is one of the easiest ways I k......
I don't know where today has gone! Or perhaps I should say yesterday because it's now after midnight and I have blog candy to give away. But before announcing the winners of the two gemstone donuts I would like to thank all of you, my listeners, who stay awhile and take the time to read about what goes on in my studio - I really appreciate that you stop by and leave comments. My thanks also go to Rings & Things for sending me the donuts to play with. I really did enjoy using them once I got past my initial fear of working with gemstones. I have a much better appreciation of gemstones now that I can see how easy they are to work with and I hope that the winners will enjoy them too. So without any further ado, let's get on with drawing some winners. Random Integer Generator Here are your random numbers: 1 8 Timestamp: 2010-11-09 14:16:30 UTC Congratulations to Silky Chick (Sara) and Sue G. You have each won a Rings & Things Gemstone Donut.
