You're sure to find something amongst them that is perfect to spruce up your Christmas outfits.
Now, on to 2014 and the first pair of this year's collection: Gift of the Orient.
These earrings have a hint of the orient about them, like a precious gift from the Magi who followed the star to find the new born King. They have lots of movement and the crystals and stars catch the light making them perfect for your Christmas celebrations.
Here's what you'll need:
- 2 x 6mm Ruby/gold Swarovski rondelles
- 10 x 4mm Siam Swarovski bicones
- 2 x 8x12mm gold filigree basket-shaped bead caps
- 26 x 10mm gold star charms with loops
- 10 links gold extender chain
- 12 links fine gold necklace chain
- 2 x gold eye pins
- 8 gold head pins
- 16 x 4mm gold jump rings
- 2 gold earring wires
Tools: chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers, round nose pliers, flush cutters
Set half the materials aside for the second earring.
Separate the extender chain into five separate links by holding the end chain link with two pairs of pliers. Move one hand towards you and the other away from you just as if you were opening a jump ring. Tip: to close it, just reverse the process.
Hook a star onto one of the links and two stars on the other four links. Hook the first link onto one of the other links and close the link.
Make sure a star is positioned on each side of this second link.
Hook a third link through the second link. Close it and position a star on each side of the link. Repeat with a fourth and fifth link.
Open the loop of an eye pin, hook it through the fifth link and close it.
Insert it through the hole of the bead cap
and string it with a rondelle
and a bicone.
Turn a simple loop.
Open four jump rings and hook a star charm on each one. Before closing the jump rings, attach one to every second loop in the bead cap.
String a bicone onto each of the head pins and turn a simple loop.
Attach a jump ring to the two remaining bicones and place them in the remaining loops of the bead cap.
Cut two lengths of three links of the fine chain. Open the loop on two of the bicones and attach one to each of the two chains.
Attach each of the chain to opposite sides of the bead cap with a jump ring.
Attach the earring to an earring wire.
Make a second earring to match.
